Particularities

The risk of avalanches is similar in the northern Swedish mountains like in the Alps. Unfortunately, there is in Sweden no regular avalanche report as in Switzerland, Germany or Austria. Even if we avoid avalanches on our snowshoe, ski and snowmobile tours  a thorough preparation for the worst-case scenario is absolutely necessary.

Course description

In this safety training we teach you the basics of avalanche awareness, as snow conditions, weather conditions, critical slope, wind effects and much more. In theory and practice you will learn in this short course the essentials of victim search and rescue. After that course you know how an avalanche transceiver (LVS) works and also know its limits.
