Particularities
A short tour with fantastic views over the Vindelälvs valley.
Tour description
The tour is intended as a first trip for hiking in Lapland or for guests who want something just have a taste of mountain air and enjoy a magnificent view.
We start at the lodging facility in Bjärdakken. We go on a small forest trail until we reach a clear-cutting area which leads up to the first 100 meters. This we follow the left ascending higher. First, we still remain in the wood, but poking above the rugged sloping south-west wall of Bierdåjvvie. In a safe distance from these we go through birch thicket further upwards towards the summit. From here we get impressive views down over the valley of Vindelälven. In the far south, we see in clear weather, the church and the water tower of Sorsele, in the West we can look to the lake Storvindeln, which is 6 kilometers wide at its most powerful site. The way back is along the rise.
Because the mountain is rarely climbed there is no way or footmarks. Hunters report that have bred here a few years ago the golden eagle. We could, however, no discover so far.
Alternatively the summit can be reached through the southwest wall of the mountain. The rock is brittle, the climb in the I. and II. level quite simple. However, for beginners we recommend the hedge with a single rope. Securings are set dynamically.
